Biogas Extruder

A biogas extruder is a mechanical device used to process organic biomasslike straw, food waste, or agricultural residuesinto a dense, uniform feedstock that enhances biogas production in anaerobic digesters.

Working Principle

• Material Feeding: Biomass is fed into the extruder, often pre-shredded or moistened.

• Compression & Shearing: Inside the barrel, rotating screws compress and shear the material, breaking down fibers and increasing surface area.

• Thermal Conditioning: Frictional heat may partially sterilize or soften the biomass, improving digestibility.

• Extrusion Output: The processed material exits through a die, forming briquettes or pellets ready for biogas reactors.
